Stage layout
The stage plot editor is a visual canvas where you place items to represent your stage setup. Each item has:| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Type | What kind of equipment or position it represents |
| Position | X/Y coordinates on the stage (drag to position) |
| Label | Custom text label |
Available stage items
Roadcase includes 15 built-in stage item types:| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Drums | Drum kit |
| Percussion | Percussion rig |
| Guitar amp | Guitar amplifier |
| Bass amp | Bass amplifier |
| Keyboard rig | Keyboard setup |
| Playback rig | Playback/tracks rig |
| Pedalboard | Effects pedalboard |

Positioning items
Click an item type to add it to the stage, then drag it to the correct position. The stage canvas represents a top-down view of the stage, with the front of stage at the bottom.Input channel list
Every stage plot includes an input channel list — the technical specification that tells the sound engineer what to plug in and where. Each channel entry includes:| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Channel number | The input channel number on the mixing console |
| Instrument | What is being input (e.g., “Kick drum”, “Lead vocal”) |
| Microphone | The microphone or DI model (e.g., “SM57”, “Beta 52A”) |
| Stand type | The mic stand type: boom, straight, short, or none |
| Phantom power | Whether this channel requires 48V phantom power |
| Notes | Additional notes for the engineer |
Linking channels to stage items
Each input channel can be linked to a stage item on the plot. This creates a visual connection between the channel list and the stage layout, making it easier for venue engineers to understand the setup.Using stage plots in advances
Stage plots are a key component of show advances. When you share an advance with a venue, your stage plot is displayed as a visual diagram alongside the input channel list. You can also attach stage plots to advance templates so they are automatically included every time you advance a show.Exporting stage plots
