Rider types
Technical rider
Your tech rider specifies the production requirements for your performance:- Front-of-house (FOH) sound requirements
- Monitor requirements
- Backline needs
- Lighting requirements
- Power requirements
- Stage dimensions and load-in details
Hospitality rider
Your hospitality rider specifies food, beverage, and comfort requirements:- Dressing room requirements
- Food and catering
- Beverages
- Towels, toiletries, and other amenities
- Parking and transportation
Creating a rider
- Navigate to Riders in the sidebar
- Click New rider
- Choose the rider type: Tech or Hospitality
- Give it a name (e.g., “Standard tech rider” or “Festival hospitality rider”)
Using built-in templates
Roadcase provides starter templates for both rider types:- Standard tech rider template — Pre-structured sections for FOH, monitors, backline, lighting, and power
- Standard hospitality rider template — Pre-structured sections for catering, beverages, dressing room, and amenities
Rich-text editing
Rider content is authored with a rich-text editor that supports:- Headings and subheadings
- Bold, italic, and underline formatting
- Bulleted and numbered lists
- Tables
- Links
Using riders in advances
Riders are a core component of show advances. When you share an advance with a venue, your tech and hospitality riders are displayed as formatted documents. Attach riders to advance templates so they are automatically included every time you advance a show.Exporting riders
Click Export PDF to generate a printable rider document. The PDF includes:- Rider content with all formatting preserved
- Artist logo (if uploaded)
Multiple riders
Create multiple riders for different scenarios:- Club tech rider — Standard requirements for club shows
- Festival tech rider — Adjusted requirements for festival stages (where backline may be shared)
- Acoustic rider — Simplified requirements for stripped-down performances
- Green room rider — Detailed hospitality requirements for larger shows
