Weather can make or break an outdoor show and affects load-in logistics even at indoor venues. Roadcase provides weather forecasts for your upcoming events so you can plan ahead and prepare your team for what to expect on the ground.

How weather works

Roadcase automatically fetches weather forecast data for events that have a venue with a known location. When you open a show or event that is coming up in the near future, you will see the weather forecast for that date and location — including temperature, conditions, and precipitation chances. Weather data is based on the venue’s geocoded location, so it is specific to where your event is actually happening rather than a general city-level forecast.

Where weather appears

Weather information is displayed on the event detail page for upcoming events. This gives you a quick reference when reviewing your schedule and preparing for a show day.
Weather forecasts are only available for events in the near future. Long-range forecasts beyond approximately two weeks are not shown because they are not reliable enough to be useful for planning.

Planning around weather

Weather forecasts are especially valuable for:
  • Outdoor shows and festivals — Know if rain is expected so you can prepare covers, tarps, and contingency plans
  • Load-in and load-out — Rain or snow can complicate gear movement, especially at venues without covered loading docks
  • Merchandise planning — Weather affects what merch sells (nobody buys t-shirts in a downpour, but hoodies fly off the table)
  • Travel days — Check weather along your route when planning long drives, especially in winter
Check the weather forecast a few days before each show as part of your advance preparation. Passing along weather details to your crew helps everyone pack and plan appropriately.
